Gone are the days of putting out some nibbles and a bit of cheesy Christmas music to make a fun Christmas party, guests expect a lot more entertainment now! One of the cutest Christmas ideas is to buy each of your friends a little ‘Plant your own Christmas Tree’ from the poundshop, and plant them together. For years to come you can watch it grow (along with your friendships hopefully!) and its a really unique party favour.
1st December – put the decorations up!
29 NovThis year I have chosen some extra cute decorations for my Christmas tree, which can be found in Oxfam stores. My favourite is the Fair Trade Reindeer decoration, from their ethical range. At £4.99 it is a bargain for the amount of detail that you get on the decoration. With the added bonus that this decoration has been designed and sourced by Believe you Can, which works with Fair Trade producers in South India. As 50% of the producers’ profits supports two schools and a health clinic in rural India you can splurge a little knowing that it is going to a good cause.
Verdict: A super cute 9/10
I also love the felt advent calendars for sale at Cargo. At £16 they are a bit on the pricey side, but very sturdy so you can use it year after year. Available at www.cargohomeshop.com
Verdict: A DIY advent treat combined with a nice decoration equals a 8/10
